Professional Powder Coating, Wet Paint Spraying

Powder Coating

Powder Coating is an attractive, durable and high quality finish, found on hundreds of products you come into contact with each day. It’s a type of dry coating making it more environmentally friendly when compared to solvent based wet paints. The powder is applied as a free flowing dry powder, using finely ground particles of pigment and resin that are electrostatically charged, and sprayed onto grounded metal parts. The charged powder particles adhere to the parts, and are held there until melted, and fused into a smooth coating in a curing oven. By correctly curing under heat, it allows it to flow and form a hard finish, which is tougher than conventional paint.

We offer a range of high quality, cost effective powder coating finishes for the architectural and industrial sectors.

Colour selection is virtually unlimited with colours staying brighter and vibrant for longer. Texture selections range from smooth surfaces to rough textures designed for hiding surface imperfections. We also offer matt finishes through to full gloss.

We have three powder coating ovens and three spray booths allowing us to process a range of colours quickly and efficiently Our powder coating facility can handle a maximum size of up to 5m x 2.4m x 2.4m.

External Steelwork can be shot blasted and zinc primed before powder coating to give a life expectancy of up 15 years.

Wet PAINT

Wet Spraying is ideal for items which either cannot tolerate the high temperatures involved in the powder coating process, are too big for our ovens, or requires very specialised coatings for extra long life in harsh conditions.

At Cougar Coatings we have a designated wet spray area which will cater for jobs ranging from an individual item to a large batch of goods.

We use the highest quality paint from the UK’s leading suppliers. These can include single pack, two pack, high build epoxy, polyurethane and acrylic. An unlimited colour range is available, including solid colours and metallics in any gloss level. Colours can also be matched to any sample provided.

Our methods of application include conventional, HVLP and airless spray equipment, to provide you with the best finish for your products.
